The frontend focuses on speed, accessibility, and clean UI:
- React.js + Next.js: Hybrid rendering + smooth navigation
- TypeScript: Strong typing for fewer runtime issues
- Tailwind CSS + Shadcn UI: Beautiful, consistent, scalable UI components
- React Query (optional): Smooth server state handling
- Dropzone + FileReader: For secure and user-friendly uploads
Backend
The backend is designed for reliable AI processing and safe media handling:
- Next.js API Routes: Serverless functions for moderation pipelines
- OpenAI API: For high-accuracy image safety analysis
- Edge-friendly functions: Fast and scalable
- Secure upload validations: MIME checks, size restrictions
- Structured response system: Severity, categories, flags
AI Moderation Flow
Image Intake & Validation
- User uploads an image
- File is validated (type, size, corruption check)
- Processed and sent to the OpenAI Vision API
Moderation Pipeline
- AI returns a breakdown of unsafe categories
- Each category is mapped to severity levels
- The system generates:
- A global risk score
- Category flags
- Human-readable summary
- Original AI metadata
Review Dashboard
- Images appear in an analytics-first dashboard
- Unsafe items are highlighted
- Users can filter, inspect, and manage content
Admin Dashboard Features
The project includes a clean internal dashboard:
- Upload new images
- View moderation results
- Inspect AI metadata
- Manage flagged content
- Sort/filter by severity score
